I AM CLINGY; THERE, I SAID IT.

I AM CLINGY; THERE, I SAID IT.
If I like somebody, I don't know how to do it halfway.

“Maybe I’m clingy, or maybe I just love loudly.”

If I like somebody, I don’t know how to do it halfway. I want to exist in their personal space, not in a suffocating way, just in a natural way. I want to send random updates about my day and vice-versa. I want to be the person you think of when something small happens.

“Yes, I’m clingy, but my clingy side is for my favourite people.”

I think my issue is I’m too clingy for this generation. I actually care, I want to talk to my people all the time, not because I’m desperate, but because I genuinely enjoy the connection. I like talking about my feelings, I like being open, I like reassurance, I like consistency, I like knowing that I matter. I want all my people to surprises me, travel cities just to see me, come over at my place to chill in the midnight, I want them to tell their love and fun stories while sipping beer or over a chai. I want to travel cities for them just to tell them that how much I love them. I like clicking candids of my people just to keep memories alive. I want to take a lot of pictures because I know times changes and people too. I want to be their go to person, every time they want to share happiness, or even cry. I like making someone a priority, even when I’m unsure where I stand in their lives. If being available for your people is clingy, then yes, I’m clingy, I like being clingy.

I don’t like pretending cool and detached. I don’t like acting that I don’t care, when I clearly do. If I am invested, I’m present. I want conversation that stretches past midnight. I want inside jokes, and I want familiarity.

“Dear friends,

I am sorry for being clingy and annoying but unfortunately it will happen again.” :p

I know we’re adults & busy with our own lives. I do understand but I want my people to tell me every detail of the day, I like double texts, I like random phone calls, I like affection.

May be for this generation I am bit old school for being clingy to my favourite people, and that’s where I keep hurting myself because expecting people to give back what I naturally give. Expecting emotional depth in the world where everyone’s scared to feel too much.

I know I care too deeply. I know I attach too quickly, I know I expect too honestly, But I can’t pretend to be detached when my heart doesn’t work that way. I crave genuine connection that’s real. I crave people who won’t make me feel like I’m asking for too much when all I want is to feel safe, seen, and chosen in the world that confuses detachment with strength.

Reminder: ” Clingy friends are not annoying. They’re the ones who love you loudly.”

  1. I really liked this. It felt so honest and relatable. Sometimes being clingy is just what happens when you genuinely care about someone. Really enjoyed reading this. ❤️

  2. I don’t think you are at fault, this generation of people has glorified detachment and that is where the entire problem lies.
Apart from certain individuals nobody despises affection of any form.
